About Steve

I am a freelance photographer based in Cornwall. My aim is to capture the Cornish landscape with its distinctive light as famously represented by the St Ives School.

I have undertaken landscape commissions for Cornwall Today Magazine, the Cornwall Heritage Trust and for commercial clients who display my photography in their premises.

Having lived in Cornwall all my adult life, my comprehensive knowledge and deep appreciation of the Cornish landscape continuously inspires me to capture the ever-changing mood of the countryside and coastline.

My commercial practice includes:

Alongside my commercial photography, I have worked on a series of personal documentary photography projects based around the sea. The Coastguard Rescue project followed a rescue team, documenting their essential work on the Cornish coast and my interest in traditional sailing craft my photo documentary of the rebuilding of the Lowestoft Sailing Drifter, Gleaner

“It was Steve’s idea of creating a photographic record of what the coastguard to, which we felt was a
good opportunity. Steve was able to capture this not only because of his photographic skills, but
because he is adept at working quietly in the background. None of the photographs are posed, they are
a true record of the way that volunteers work when no-one is watching. As a result, the images in this
book provide an honest window on the tasks and exploits of the Newquay coastguard team.”

“Steve has taken some wonderful product photographs of my mugs and place-mats. It has helped me so
much to have professional looking photographs, as this is a key factor in getting good online sales if
the products look good and it shows the seller has taken the time to present themselves professionally. I
would, and in fact have, recommended Steve to anyone who is considering selling online and needs clear
and attractive product photography
